Hole Openers

Drilling a large diameter hole or expanding the diameter of an existing hole can often be completed effeciently with a hammer bit hole-opener. Our hole-openers are available for all standard shanks and are up to 40" in diameter. Most hole-openers are special order and can be manufactured in a wide variety of combinations of hole and pilot size. Special features such as fishing threads, pilot face buttons etc. are also available.

Rotary Hole Openers

Bruce Tool Company builds a variety of hole-openers ranging from 10" to 72" (254mm - 1830mm) in diameter. Our drilling tools are ruggedly constructed from heat treated alloys to withstand the punishment of big hole projects. Our hole-openers are standardly built short, in order to accommodate rigs with close clearance between the rig and the hole. Extended upper and lower connections are available to suit the needs of each situation. To provide the best cost-to-production ratio, our tools are standardly constructed with rebuilt steel or carbide cutters. However, tools with new cutters are available on special order.

Our hole-openers are available with a wide variety of cutters to effectively drill in any formation. For ease of operation, our tools can be built with any common connection to fit the driller's particular project.
